Claudia Schiffer in handcuffs is one of six supermodels photographed by Mario Testino as rotating catwalk covergirls for V59 – the cult V Magazine’s first-ever swimsuit issue, out on May 1st.

Claudia, 38, and the mother of two, shows she can still cut it, high-kicking in Yves Saint Laurent wedge-sole ‘cage' boots and a slinky black, embroidered, criss-cross, plunge-front, one-piece, with ‘winged’ hips, by Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton, (on sale for a cool £1,610), accessorised with silver handcuffs.

Claudia’s cover is fluorescent and autographed as are those of her five catwalk super-chums: Kate (Moss), Gisele (Bündchen), Naomi (Campbell), Eva (Herzigova) and Daria (Werbowy).

Inside, the ‘supers’ join a cast of super-honed, super-toned guys and girls showing off all the key beach and pool looks for the long, hot summer.

The editor-in-chief of V Magazine, Stephen Gan, said:”Mario Testino and I started talking about doing a swimsuit issue about this time last year. We aimed for something like a cool fashion insider’s answer to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues.

“We chose the sexiest bodies in the world and those that had a special connection to the Testino world; a lot of the guys and girls photographed grew up with V readers over the years.” Gan said.

The only requirement for the six cover-girls was that they all be known immediately by their first names.

V Magazine was launched in September, 1999 as the younger ‘ready-to-wear’ publication to the limited-edition, ‘couture’ quarterly, Visionaire.
